Care Ministry

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Romans 12:10-13

Ministries Prayer Support Team

Ministries Prayer Support Team consists of members who pray daily for the ministries and staff of Lamb of God. In addition, three members of the team pray together each Sunday morning at 7:30 am with the pastors and others concerning special needs of worship for the day and other upcoming events for the week. Members meet quarterly for encouragement and Bible study. In addition, the team plans and organizes a bi-yearly prayer retreat devoted to prayer and learning.

Hands of Friendship

Hands of Friendship Ministry Team assists the Pastors, Elders, and Care Ministry Task Force in ministering to the needs of specific families within the congregation. Generally, Hands of Friendship Volunteers deal with shut-ins or seniors within our congregation but are available for others in need as well. Some of the areas of service may include temporarily caring for children, doing household chores, providing transportation, running errands, making phone calls, doing outside chores, visiting shut-ins and hospitalized members, and other physical helping tasks.

Card Ministry

Card Ministry provides greetings, congratulations, sympathy, and encouragement to members of the congregation. This ministry concentrates on specific needs and significant events of Lamb of God members’ lives. Though not directed specifically at elderly and/or shut-in members, the Card Ministry program seeks to minister especially to this member base.

Prayer Quilt Ministry

The mission of Lamb of God and Prayer Quilt Ministry is to provide comfort and support in a very tangible way in the form of a prayer quilt or prayer square for a person going through a difficult time in their life. Prayer squares are taken when a member visits someone in need and is left as a reminder that God loves them and hears their prayers. The prayer square can also be a representation that there are people at Lamb of God that care about them and continue to pray for their needs. For those experiencing an especially difficult event, (personal, spiritual, financial, or other crisis), a full-sized Prayer Quilt can be tied and prayed over by the congregation and presented to the recipient. Please email us at  to request a Prayer Quilt.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The mission of the Prayer Shawl Ministry is to provide comfort and solace or acknowledge a celebration in a tangible way in the form of a prayer shawl. We invite you to join and help us make the shawls while feeding your love of knitting or crocheting. All ages and skill levels are welcome. We meet every other week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - please check the events calendar for more details. Together we can help others feel wrapped in prayer! Please email us at  to request a Prayer Shawl.

Caring through Meals

Caring through Meals Ministry Team provides meals to families within the congregation who are experiencing a loss or other crisis in their lives. Volunteers provide meals for those families at a time when other demands on that family may be overwhelming. Examples of this ministry might include a death in the family, an unexpected long-term absence by one of the spouses’ in the family because of an illness or loss, or other reasons.

Journey through Grief Mailings

Journey through Grief mailings are a series of four short books provided by the church through Stephen Ministries that provide comfort and support through the first year of a loss experienced by specific members and friends. Books are keyed to emotions usually experienced by loved ones at the three-week, three-month, six-month, and eleven-month time intervals.
