Church Ministry Council

The Church Ministry Council consists of 13 members from the congregation along with the Head Elder and the Senior Pastor. Each representative is elected to a two-year term and is eligible to run for a second term.

Roles and Responsibilities

President

The election for this position is held in the spring, every two years.  The person elected will serve as President-Elect until the current President finishes his term of office on December 31 of that year.

Vice-President

The primary purpose of this office is to work with the Senior Pastor and the President of the congregation to ensure that the mission and ministry of the congregation are carried out in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confession.  In seeking to carry out the responsibilities of this office the Vice President is to assist the President of the Congregation as he seeks to ensure that the decisions and directions of the Voters Assembly are carried out by the leaders and staff of the congregation.

Secretary

The purpose of this office is to ensure that an accurate record is kept of the official business of the congregation as it is conducted by the CMC and the Voting Assembly of the congregation. 

Early Childhood Ministry (Preschool)

The ECM Chair works closely with the ECM Director and ECM Board to prepare and monitor the annual ECM Ministry Plan and budget, represents the ECM on the Church Ministry Council, including monthly ministry updates, and provides leadership in the Early Childhood Ministry.

Outreach

The Outreach Chair is responsible to plan and coordinate the annual Outreach Ministry plan and budget in coordination with Outreach Committee and Pastoral staff. Special emphasis on coordinating and evaluating outside ministries receiving support from Lamb of God. The Outreach Chair represents the Outreach Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Outreach Ministry.

Servanthood

The Servanthood Chair is responsible to plan and coordinate the annual Servanthood Ministry plan and budget in coordination with the Servanthood Committee. Special emphasis on planning, coordinating, promoting opportunities for congregational members to become engaged in ministries at Lamb of God through the biblical example of sharing of their time, talents, and treasures. The Servanthood Chair represents the Servanthood Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Servanthood Ministry.

Music

Promotes the Glory of God through the joy of music by encouraging member participation of service in the Music Ministry and coordinating community music events. The Music Ministry Chair represents the Music Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Music Ministry.

Treasurer

The primary purpose of this office is to provide responsible financial management of the Congregation's assets. The Treasurer is an elected member of the CMC and is therefore accountable to the Congregation both directly and through the CMC. The Treasurer reports the activities of this Office and the financial status of the Congregation monthly to the CMC and to the congregation as a whole at its Voter’s Assemblies.

Fellowship

The Fellowship Chair plans and coordinates opportunities for members of LOG to get to know each other and develop Christ-centered relationships. Overseas the use, care, and supplying the kitchen facilities. The Fellowship Chair represents the Fellowship Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Fellowship Ministry.

Youth

The Youth Chair facilitates Gospel-focused ministry among the youth of LOG.  The Youth Chair recruits and coordinates activities with the assistance of the Youth Board.  The Youth Chair represents the Youth Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Youth Ministry.

Adult Education

The Adult Education Chair develops and coordinates programs of Christian education by providing opportunities for members and visitors to grow in the knowledge of God’s word. The Adult Education Chair represents the Adult Education Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Adult Education Ministry.

Children's

The Children’s Chair develops and coordinates programs of Christian education for children, up to grade 5.  The Children’s Chair represents the Children’s Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Children’s Ministry.

Facilities

The Facilities Chair provides responsible physical management of the assets of the congregation.  The Facilities Chair represents the Facilities Ministry on the Church Ministry Council, including preparing monthly updates and providing leadership in the Facilities Ministry.

Qualifications Common to All Offices:  

All elected and appointed officials shall at a minimum be Voting Members who have demonstrated Biblical stewardship and regular attendance at worship services and group Bible study at Lamb of God and shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.  Qualifications unique to President: Must be at least 30 years of age and Male. Elected officers shall also have been a member of a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregation for at least two (2) years.
