Rocky Railway... "Jesus' Power Pulls us Through"
Climb aboard for mountains of fun at LOG 2021 Rocky Railway! On this faith-filled adventure, kids discover that trusting Jesus pulls them through life’s ups and downs. We would love to have you join us for in-person VBS this summer! In efforts to keep the event safe for children and volunteers, we are limiting capacity.
Registration is available for Volunteers.
We invite you to partner with us in prayer, as we begin to pray over all aspects of the VBS ministry by using the 30-day prayer suggestions provided here. Thank you for partnering with us in this way!
Pray for the plans being made for VBS. Pray that the planning and volunteers will hear God’s leading and follow accordingly.
Pray for the people of our Lamb of God community, especially the children. Pray that the Holy Spirit will move people to seek and know Him.
Pray for the children who will attend VBS. Pray especially that those children, potentially from our preschool who are unchurched or don’t know Jesus in home, will be able to attend.
Pray for the leaders who are planning and organizing VBS. Pray that they have the time available to adequately prepare for the VBS week.
Pray for all the churches in Flower Mound, that they would be a unified effort to reach the children in our communities.
Pray that there would be more than enough volunteers for the week to help in the preschool sessions, the kitchen, with childcare and as conductor leaders and junior conductor leaders.
Pray that parents of our younger families can feel a sense of community within our church family. That as they move into different stages, struggles, joys of parenthood that our church family can play a supportive role, specifically in mentoring at VBS.
This year’s VBS is titled “Rocky Railway - Jesus’ Power Pulls us Through” and teaches children that Jesus’ power will help them do hard things, be bold, gives us hope and lets us live forever. Pray that the songs, lessons and activities would be effective tools in teaching children how to tap into His power.
Pray that the VBS event may be a safe and smart event, that the Lord would protect all who are planning, and participating from sickness and injury. That nothing will prevent not being able to attend.
Pray that ‘Conductor’ leaders, teachers and other volunteers would make good connections with the children and that each child would feel a sense of belonging.
Pray that parents would place importance on their children attending VBS and them arrive each day, supporting the week in prayer and help where needed.
Pray that the efforts of our church will be fruitful and that many kids will hear about a God that loves them! Pray that there would be no conflicts or trials in transportation to our event.
Pray for the safety of all involved during the week, that the Lord would provide energy and excitement for all.
Pray for any child who will attend who might have struggled in some way whether it’s physical, emotional, or neglect. Pray for healing for those families that they would be able to have hope in Jesus.
Pray that all volunteers, from those teaching to preparing snacks, would have a heart for the ministry they are engaged in during the VBS week.
Pray for the hearts of the children in attendance, that their hearts would be softened to hearing about God’s love for them and Jesus.
During VBS, children will learn that Jesus’ power will help them in any situation they may encounter. Pray that the children will remember and act on these truths long after VBS is over.
Pray for those planning, preparing and leading various areas of VBS, that the other “life needs” in their day would be accomplished quickly or taken care of (e.g. meals, childcare, daily tasks, work issues, etc.) so they have the time needed to prepare decorations, gather supplies and study the lessons.
Pray today for our youth volunteers. We pray that the Lord would give our VBS team time to get all our planning details together and refresh them spiritually as they look to lead and guide our team. Give them rest as well as energy where needed.
Pray today specifically for our youth volunteers. That the Lord would use their service to speak into their own faith and life. We pray blessing for their mentorship to our children. We pray that the Lord would keep our youth healthy and give them energy for our upcoming service. Pray that our youth continue to stay involved in our church family long after our event.
Pray that the parents of those attending VBS would be reached as well. Pray especially that their hearts would be softened to what their children are learning and telling them.
Pray that the Word that is sown in the hearts of our children will be protected to grow and produce a spiritual harvest.
Pray for any children who will be first-time attenders at VBS. Pray they would have courage to come even if they do not know anybody. Pray that other children, as well as older teachers and helpers, would make them feel welcome and included. For our littlest of passengers, to give them courage to be away from family.
Pray for the teachers who will be teaching the Bible lessons and imparting Biblical truths each day. Pray that they will hear from the Holy Spirit what to say, how to say it and that it will be heard with open hearts.
Pray that the songs the children sing will get “stuck” in the hearts and minds of the children, reminding them of the truths they learned long after VBS is over.
Pray that all children and staff who attend VBS will be healthy during the week. Pray that there will be no illness of any kind for the participants during the week.
Pray for the children who feel 'too old to attend VBS' but still need to hear the message that Jesus loves them. Pray that the Word will reach them and make an eternal impact in their lives.
Pray for our Middle School mission team as they along with our VBS decorating team begin to decorate the church facilities. That they would have the amount of time needed and the decoration materials provided. We pray blessings and thanksgiving for our servant hearts.
Pray that our VBS planners will be ready with any needed protocols to keep all participants healthy and safe during the week. Pray that any changes to the “normal” routine and structure would not hinder VBS in any way.
Pray for offerings to be received during our VBS week. We pray for our partnering World Vision organization as we partner in our Operation kid-to-kid giving. Pray for our children’s heart for serving to be opened, to see others who are in need. We pray in general for all our children around the world who need access to clean water and food. We thank You Lord in advance for blessing us so that we may be a blessing to others.
Pray that children will come to VBS excited! Pray for our parents or caregivers as they remember our VBS and prepare for our week. We pray especially for parents who are also volunteering with the team. Give them the needed time to also be able to enjoy this time at VBS!
Today is the first day of VBS! Pray for an energetic start, for all details to flow smoothly, for the kids to enjoy what they are learning and desire to return and most importantly for Jesus to be the focus! Our day one theme is ‘Jesus’ power helps us do hard things’. We pray that the Lord helps us do those hard things!
Today is the second day of VBS. Our day two theme is ‘Jesus’ power gives us hope'. Pray that the kids would be able to carry the message back to their homes. That families would talk about faith in their homes. Pray that all that has been prepared is engaging, fun and compels children to return!
Today is the third day of VBS. Our day three theme is ‘Jesus’ power helps us be bold’. Praise God for all He is doing through VBS! Pray for energy and strength for all those teaching, coordinating and volunteering. Pray that the kids would continue to attend and engage with the messages they hear. Pray for our Family Fun event where we will welcome parents to attend a social time with their child.
Today is day four for VBS when our curriculum presents the gospel message. Our day four theme is ‘Jesus power lets us live forever’. Pray that our message will be heard from everyone. Day four can also be a day that our volunteers start to feel fatigue and decrease in energy. Pray that the Holy Spirit would pour into our volunteers. That our conductors would be able to feed off the joy and the relationships that are being rooted. Pray today for our Family Director, Miss Hannah (Prindiville) as she seeks to guide our train to the station.
Today is the fifth day, with our final theme being ‘Jesus’ power helps us be good friends’. Pray that the Lord would continue His work long beyond our closing day. Pray that the Lord will bless all of our servant hearts and renew their spirits in their service.
Thank you for praying so diligently for VBS. Continue to pray that the seeds that were sown and the message that was heard would take root in the heart of each child and would produce a spiritual harvest both now and as they grow in the faith. We thank You Jesus for being our guide.
